Refusing to Eat

Ack! All of a sudden Kasen started to refuse to eat. Literally, any spoon of ANYTHING he would purse his lips shut or turn his head. I fretted for a few days until I figured out that he actually wanted to FEED himself. It was his way of asserting his independence. That meant we had to get increasingly used to a BIG MESS at every feeding. We just loved to watch him enjoy his food after that. Though he still refuses most protein, this is better than nothing! Currently he enjoys fruits most of all, with fruits such as strawberries, blueberries and pears, pluots, and peaches that he can hold between two hands and regulate how much he can bite to chew.
