Rice and Gim (Korean Roasted Seaweed)

Kasen. Why on earth do you ask for rice and seaweed right before bedtime, every night now? Horrible habit. You eat plenty during dinner and then you have your milk - why do you insist on having it at 9pm every night?

I don't blame Kasen. I first discovered gim in college when I had my first exposure to Korean friends and Korean food (yes, I was that sheltered). Gim tasted AMAZING with rice. Gim comes in individual packages so that the seaweed stays crisp and has the perfect amount of saltiness. We typically purchase ours from Korean superstore H-Mart but when that's not accessible I buy ours from Amazon. Yes, Amazon has everything. We get the Jayone 24 Count seaweed, for about 54 cents a pack. It's not my favorite brand, but the fact that Kasen goes through it as if it is God's gift to toddlers, it's very cost effective. Costco has them too but there are too many in one pack that results in them largely going stale because we are really only able to eat a quarter of it per sitting. Regardless, it's a great snack with lots of health benefits at least per TIME magazine. But really Kasen, can we not do this every night?
