Operation Project STTN: Day 6

Daylight savings is the worst! In addition to messing with our sleep cycles (and losing an hour of very precious time) that meant that Kasen, who normally sleeps at 8:30pm, was not yet sleepy until 9:30pm once daylight savings took effect. Grrrr. I'm hoping over the next few days we can adjust his schedule gradually to the old 8:30pm time slot, by pushing back his bedtime 15 minutes each time.

Anyway, after reading through 4 books and ending with Goodnight Scout, then feeding Kasen and then putting him in the crib drowsy but awake, he again realized what I was doing, and proceeded to fuss. For about three whole minutes. And then silence! I pumped my fist outside my bedroom door! But learning my lessons from the other night, I decided to wait 10 additional minutes before checking on Kasen in case he was in the process of falling asleep. When I did tip toe in 10 minutes later - he was already breathing deeply!

He awoke in the middle of the night around 3:45am. I'm not one to go completely cold turkey, so I fed him about 3 oz of milk, then put him back into his crib drowsy but awake. He rolled over to his side, clutched his blanket, and fell right asleep.

We're making progress, finally!
