[18 weeks] IT'S A [DRAGON] BOY!

We had our anatomical scan for the baby on Friday, February 3, 2012. Initially our first technician was unfamiliar with the Philips ultrasound machine that was in our room...so she ended up calling for back-up. The second technician was brilliant - she navigated the system deftly and got great shots of the  baby's little organs - the heart and its four chambers, the stomach, the kidneys, the brain, the little arms and legs, etc. - so tiny yet so cute! The spine's already formed and alot of the bones have formed too. We also saw the little feet, so cute (it already looks like Ken's feet). And we even caught the baby touching his face and yawning. We've kept every single set of the ultrasound shots and are planning to scrap book them.

And then all of a sudden, without much of a warning - the technician surprisingly said "Okay so you guys want to find out the sex..." She subsequently shows us the baby's parts between its legs and announces that it is a BOY. There was no mistaking how prominent the baby's parts were. It was quite hilarious and exciting.

So we will be having a dragon boy (or as my uncle excitedly put it in toisanese, you are having a "loong doy"). The day we found out I made my parents guess - Mom guessed a boy, Dad guessed a girl. They've been so excited to get him started on playing ping pong while my brother is already thinking about getting him on a snowboard. We called Ken's mom non-stop (maybe 6-7 times) and she didn't pick up...until we called her late in the evening and she was wondering why we didn't call. But let's just say she was BEYOND elated. We love all of this happiness!
