Hanson's First Birthday Party + Holidays at the Wongs

Happy First Birthday to Kasen's buddy Hanson! Poor Hanson had to have his party rescheduled from the previous week due to the snowstorm. Kasen awoke from a nap right before the party and was just so overwhelmed that he couldn't have fun...until the very end. My Gym parties (which is where Kasen had his first birthday party, but at a different location) are always a lot of fun. Kasen always takes a while to get acclimated and warm up to a situation. Figures that it took him the length of the entire party in order to start to have fun. Boooo.

 When we got home, we found two boxes of Harry & David's Royal Riviera Pears. Now, this is a tradition of ours. We always get a box or two to enjoy. Usually we get it at the mall, but there wasn't a pop-up store - so we decided to order it online. They are exceptionally sweet and creamy, and given that both Ken and Kasen LOVE pears I thought it would be a great little gift for the family. Once the box was open, Kasen had a blast inspecting them - picking each pear up and smelling it and putting it back to the box.

 And then we went to our friends' house for a little holiday shindig. They have two kids, so there is no shortage of toys. Kasen's favorite of all was the kitchen. I didn't expect that at all, but in some cases maybe I should have because his Dad is such an exceptional chef.
