Santa's Little Helper

We tried unsuccessfully, twice that is, to take a picture with Santa. The first time we went was Friday night after work to the Natick Collection. It was 7:30pm and Santa was leaving at 8:00pm. We thought we could make it - we rushed there, but I had mistaken the location of Santa. In all of the years of going to the Natick Collection (well then the Natick Mall before it had its new addition and all of its fancy new stores) Santa's station used to be on the older side of the mall where Macy's was. I was wrong. We rushed there, only to NOT find Santa and find out from one of the store workers nearby that it was in the NEW section. We rushed there only to find the photo crew packing up and even more sadly, Santa was gone. Tear. So we had dinner at Wasabi, which is probably one of the worst sushi experiences I've ever had. It's conveyor belt sushi. Trendy yes, but we've had it in Hong Kong and it was delicious. I do not recommend going to Wasabi if you can help it. Save your $70 and go enjoy some teriyaki chicken with extra sauce at Sarku in the food court for $10.

So on Sunday I had plans to go shopping with my cousin. Kasen and I that is. And upon arriving at the mall if the line was short, we'd have Kasen take a photo with Santa, and if not, we'd return again later on to see if it got better. The line was not short. And even later the line did not get any shorter. I returned home later that day with presents to wrap and my list to buy people for shorter, but empty handed with no picture of Kasen with Santa.

Finally we vowed that we would get that picture with Santa. On Friday night we headed to the mall. We thought it would be crazy. But then we found parking..and there were lots of spaces! And lo and behold...NO LINE FOR SANTA! Funny thing is Kasen had just fallen asleep. So we shopped until Kasen woke up. And then we made a beeline for Santa...and there was still no line! SCORE!
