4Moms Origami Stroller
When we were looking at strollers (our in depth stroller reviews will be discussed in a later post) Ken fell in love with the 4Moms Origami stroller. 4Moms points out cleverly that "strollers are all the same and haven't changed for decades...that's why 4Moms created the power-folding stroller." It in fact is very cool, and looks more like a transformer than a stroller. But at a cool $849 and the first of its kind, I didn't want to be a guinea pig. Since it's new for 2012 and it was not yet being carried at most stores, we finally tracked it down at a Isis Parenting nearby our home. Our conclusion? Cool, but not very sturdy, and the storage basket is meager (storage is important to us). So the 4Moms Origami stroller was a no go this time around, but it did lead us to take a very close look at their baby rocker MamaRoo, and their cleanwater bath system. We were charmed by these gadgets and ultimately resulted in us purchasing them.
4Moms MamaRoo
We actually saw this baby rocker our first go around to BuyBuyBaby when purchasing a registry gift for one of our friends' baby showers. Of all of the baby rockers on display, this one drew Ken and I in the most because of its compact size and space pod-like construct. The selling point here is that the MamaRoo is meant to mimic how we carry our babies - as 4Moms puts it, "It moves like you do." It has five different types of movement, along with different speeds, and the ability to also add sounds. You can even plug in your own iPod especially if you want your little one to rock out to the Glee soundtracks. And it's a plug-in, not battery operated so it can easily travel with us. Since we chose the MamaRoo plush, there are four prints - we went with the paint dots one because it was so happy and colorful. We're pretty excited to receive it. As Ken says it, "Junior's going to be so stylie!"
