"Mama, Sing!" + Canobie

We visited Canobie again this past weekend for my brother's company's outing. Kasen had a blast running around the grass area and also asked to ride the carousel (he loves animals, and horses especially if you haven't figured it out) about 5 times, on several different colored horses each time.

Also, my 2 year old has really gotten into being bossy in the last week in terms of commanding me to sing. It used to just be in the car, but now, it's really anywhere. It usually starts out like this:

Kasen: "Hi Mama. Mama, sing!"

Mama: "Kasen, what do you want Mama to sing?"

Kasen: "Thumbkin. Sing thumbkin!"

Mama: "Okay, here we go. Where is thumbkin, where is thumbkin, here I am..."

Kasen interrupts: "Mama, sing Pointer."

Mama: "Okay, pointer it is. Where is pointer, where is pointer, here I am..."

Kasen interrupts: "Mama, sing baba finger."

The song Finger Family? On youtube? If you haven't seen it, then you are truly missing out. Basically the same song, sung by a group of Indian singers I think, set to many different cartoons and animations ranging from an actual human family to animals to Angry Birds, Spiderman and Mickey and Minnie. No joke.

Mama: "Ok Kasen, I'll sing finger family. Baba finger, baba finger, where are you..."

Kasen interrupts: "Mama sing padre finger!"

I made the mistake of teaching Kasen the finger family structure in Spanish. D'oh.

Mama: "Padre finger, padre finger, where are you...."

Kasen: "Mama sing EIEIO."

Singing is not just for lullabies at night. Kasen abuses his ability to get me to sing, and lately it's one of three songs: Thumbkin, Finger Family, or Old MacDonald. Fun times.
