As I picked up Kasen on Thursday night after work from my in-laws, my MIL handed me two plastic bags full of fuji apples. I thought as we were driving home, I could make applesauce!
So on Friday night...or er, early Saturday morning (I have this awful habit of falling asleep with my son at 9pm whenever we put him to sleep, and then waking up in the middle of the night, typically at 3 or 4am to wash bottles and bowls and storage containers and such and clean toys and do laundry...) I decided to cut, core, and steam some of the fuji apples. Then I pureed the smithereens out of the apples. I spooned them into the oxo containers, and then let it cool off, and brought one out for Kasen to eat during breakfast after his oatmeal.
He ate one, made a face, and then shook his head (like we all do when something's just a little too sour). Grrrrrr. The applesauce was too sour! =( I wonder if all of the fuji apples or like that, or it was just this particular bath. Ugh. So upset! I was hoping his first exposure to apples was a good one. Sigh.
