Words

Kasen honestly doesn't stop talking, and it's been like this over the last three weeks or so. He's always been really talkative but it's now the sentence explosion that's taken place. He knows various animals and fruits and vegetables and has a curiosity that just astounds me, There is a fisher-price animal book that he loves - ever since going to Atlantis and seeing all of the sea animals live and acquiring new words to his animal vocabulary - like sea urchin, jack fish, grouper, sting ray, shark, hermit crab, starfish, etc. - he's so excited that he's finally able to link it all up and know exactly what animal is what.

Kasen finally is starting to like ice cream, and when he asks for "i-cream" he always asks for it in a cone. And increasingly it's "chocolate" over "vanilla." Heh!

At night, when I bring him home, Kasen will say "It's dark outside. There's monsters!" and I will say,"Yes it is dark outside. However, when Kasen and Mommy are together, there are no monsters." Then Kasen will wave his hand and say "No monsters!" Heh. That's our doing. We'll tell him that when it's dark the monsters will come out - to prevent him to going into dark places by himself. I figure a little white lie won't hurt if it protects him.

He's also begun to use "how about..." and the word "and" to link things together. It's so cute.

His latest favorite song at 2 years and 2 months is Wheels on the Bus. We've been listening to it on repeat in the car - before the song ends Kasen will say "Wheels on Bus again!" gleefully, and at night when we sleep - I'll ask him what he wants me to sing, and he will "Wheels on Bus!"

Nothing compares to when he says "I lub you mommy." The best. EVER.

I also love how there are certain words he can't say but you have to listen closely to understand what it is he's trying to say. If you don't repeat what he says correctly he will say it again more insistently. Perfectionist I guess!

"Memon" - Lemon
"Watermemon" - Watermelon
"Rahptor" - Lobster
"It's rain-ding" - It's raining!

Ever since Ken's found some grasshoppers in the front yard, Kasen's been wanting to bring them inside. And last weekend, he had his wish!

Just so much cuteness, all around. He's a handful but man, we love him to pieces. Can't believe he'll be 2 years and 3 months in two weeks.
